Just a quick write-up for posterity: this was our first show since reforming as Draum.

We set off early on Saturday, got there around 9 AM. Campsite was actually huge - could have taken bigger tents if we'd had the transport for them. Freya and Josh turned up shortly after.

We did some training with Hwicce and Dom from Oussekjarr (how do you spell that?)

There were introductions to one-handed spear and dane-axe, and general combat. We will have to get these three (at least) booked in for their Basic at the next Major show.

Mick and I got checked out for rust.
We also took a wander up to the LH. Kieran from Danelaw checked over Adam, Freya, and Tom's kit, and was pretty satisfied. We could pass it ourselves within the group, but I wanted to make sure we were in line with the Society. It was interesting and educational.
NB: stitched on belt-ends are fine. You don't have to even have a belt-end! Those lace-up celty type shoes are out of favour now, unless very early. Leg-wraps are not mandatory but quite strongly suggested.

The new fire-box worked out ok, especially because the wind was pretty constant and mostly defeated the gas stove.
Mick and I did the battle, it was a breeze. Our side won all the refights, so we haven't tasted defeat yet.

Then afterwards we got our Silver Drengrs - which was nice.

The evening was pretty quiet - we watched a film around the fire until it got too cold, and then had what Mick described as the 'worst night of his life'. It was bloody freezing!

On the Sunday, Adam and Tom did a bit of training, we chilled out, and then we did the battle again and came home.
Overall, a great show.
