Northampton Balloon Show, August 2025

Quick post just to note that we have done two shows now! Wow ;)

A few went on Friday, and were well organised by Helen.

We had a go at the BSA on Saturday - some things to learn from that. We also got the chance to practice missile defence against bows, javelins, slingers.

There were two shows each day. Mick and I joined the Dogs and had a rather good time, despite the huge number of missiles flying around the field - I swear I've never seen the atmosphere so busy: arrows, balloons, javelins, fake rocks and harsh language.

Sadly, no fire Saturday evening, so we played Spotify Roulette under the gazebo.

We were sharing the show with the American Civil War Society, which was quite entertaining.

For the last battle on Sunday, it was so hot we were told we could wear modern footwear. Of course when Mick and I turned up for that, everyone else was in authentic shoes. until we spotted Bob, who'd done the same as us, and so we were in good company.

A nice little show - not as big as I expected, but mostly fun.
